iPhone Case Luxury Flavor

If you own an iPhone these days you are still somewhat extra deluxe and super hipp. But if you really want to show the world that you are the one - you need this - the Gold & Diamond iPhone Case from Case-Mate for $20.000

From their website it says:
"The Case-mate Diamond Case is handcrafted with 42 diamonds (3.5 carats) set in 18K gold, embedded in a rare gold carbon fiber leather case. With VVS1 clarity and H color, these diamonds are superior in quality. Complete with an 18K gold emblem, the Case-mate Diamond Case is truly a one of a kind."

Wohoo - well, there is even more when you check out their website. I definily like the ad at the bottom of their page that says that you can win a $25 gift certificate :) Ah, one thing: They ship it free to your iPhone-Home!

Hello iPhone!

Are you a developer? If yes, you probably know the "Hello World" tutorials that explain first steps into a new programing language. Today I call this post "Hello iPhone" - because the iPhone SDK is on the starting grid somewhere at Cupertino and we are all excited to see what this is all about. I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling that we don't see a full Cocoa development kit for the iPhone. We will probably see something different here - perhaps a save Java implementation or even a sort of Android version. I talked about that some weeks ago - and some of your were really upset with that - but I know that Steve don't like it when everybody can code software (crappy or not) for his baby. I worked on Jave J2ME Development for over 5 years and I know that J2ME can ne really powerfull with the right implementation into the hardware. Some mobile manufactures do that well, some not - and I think Apple can do it very well. Of course I hope we see an addon to the XCode Developlemt Kit to develop nativly in Cocoa or even Carbon for the iPhone. Well only one month to go to the end of February!

GMail Login Problems?

Anybody else with GMail log in problems? Since two hours, I have problems to get to my inbox - the page says "Loading..." and tries to connect - over and over again but it will not go to the inbox. First time since I use GMail I ask myself - should I better make backups of my GMails?

MacBook Air - Whats Next? 50 Weeks To Go!

The MacBook Air is an amazing - nice to have - Apple Product. Even if you don't need it - you need it in some way. When I first saw it, I was a bit disapointed about the size - I know it is really thin and that's fantastic - but when you saw the new eeePC from Asus - you know what small is and I expected Apple would go that way. I don't want to compare those two pieces here - but wouldn't it be great if Apple will create another highlight this year? You know, Jobs told us - there are still 50 weeks to go in this year and perhaps we see something like a MacBook Nano.

Think Different with GMail!

Ever tried to use GMail in a different way? I tried it today to make it a very powerfull invoicing reporting tool to check if your clients payed your invoice or not. Some will think that this is a very uncommon way to track invoices - well it's ok for me and perhaps for some of you as well.

Simply create the labels "> INVOICED" and "> PAYED" or name it like you want and create a label for every company you send invoices. Every time you create a new invoice - send  an email to your gmail account with the amount in the subject or even mor details about the invoice and label it as "> INVOICED" - and later when the client send you the money - label it as "> PAYED".

Now create bookmarks for invoiced and payed labels to direct access all invoiced or payed invoices from your browser with a single click.

Bookmark for all open invoices : Label "> INVOICED"
http://mail.google.com/mail/?search=query&view=tl&start=0&init=1&fs=1&q=label:>-invoiced

Bookmark for all payed invoices: Label "> PAYED"
http://mail.google.com/mail/?search=query&view=tl&start=0&init=1&fs=1&q=label:>-payed

Please notice the "q" parameter in the url at the end for the label name to search for and how the space in the label is replaced by a "-".

With this two Bookmarks you have direct access from your browser to all invoiced and payed invoices with a single click. If you don't like to see these mails in your normal inbox - simple send them to the archive.

If someone has some ideas to improve - just let me know.

iSpy with my iPhone

If you like more details and like to spy on what ever you want the iPhone is not really a thingy that makes you happy. The build in iPhone camera don't zoom which makes it bad for Mr. Private James Bond. Well there is light at the end of the tunnel. The iPhone Telescope available from Brando for $19 - is something really cool. It will add zoom features to your iPhone - and it really seems to make a good job. The iPhone Telescope has 6x zoom capabilities but it has a really downside - it looks damn ugly! So if you like it ugly, need more details and like to spy - this is what you need. MacBook Air Number #1 in Germany

I like visiting the Apple Online Store and check what I can't buy, what I perhaps can buy, what I probably will buy and what I definitly will buy. While surfing the Apple Store today I also took a look at the German Store and saw that the Apple MacBook Air is on number #1 in the best selling product list. I checked the US Store but I couldn't see any MacBook Air on the list. Second product on the German list is Time Capsule.

Look Ma, my Nokia is an iPhone now!

I am not a big mobile user and I only own a crap Nokia 6280 for 2 years now and I normaly write SMS to my girl or sometimes make a call to some friends. Beside this I use GMail client - which works really great and Google Maps - (location don't work on that phone). Google Maps helped us a lot to find some stores in Hamburg - the local search is fantastic. Since Nokia invented the multivoice ringtones - I hate them - I don't need a "lalalala" ringtone, I want a normal ringtone "rrrrrrrriiiiiinnnng" or "dooooooooooodd" that I hear when I am outside and not this harmonic blah. Anyway, why I'm writing this - well today I found an iPhone Theme for my Nokia - woohoo, I installed it and it looks great now - much better then my Nokia menu and the best thing is... I now have a great ringtone for calls and sms as well and don't need to listen to the lalala ringtones from Nokia anymore. So, I don't bought an iPhone sofar but I prepare to with this nice theme and ringtones. :)

It doesn't work Bill

Ok, today I want to view the Bill Gates CES Live Stream from their website with my Mac. So I expected a website with a movie that I can watch. So here is my story whats happening.
1) I went to the website with my Safari Browser and clicked on the little Bill Gates face on the Microsoft frontpage
2) On the movie page itself I got a message that I need to install Silverlight in order to get things running - ok no problem I hit the install button. The window also says that after installation I would be able to watch the movie.
3) After the download of Silverlight - no installation starts - so I need to start the installation by myself from the disk image on my desktop - done
4) restarting Safari and be excited now to see Bill Gates Keynote and good bye words. Page loading - I see a small image of the video and below a stop and play button - I hit the play button - but - who wonders - nothing happen
5) I tried that in Firefox as well but nothing happen
6) I tried that on my Vista machine - but nothing happen
7) I wasted over 30 minutes of my time to try to watch Bill Gates - but nothing happened
8) Microsoft = Nothing Happened - sorry Bill that I couldn't see your keynote but I think there was a technical problem - once again - good bye!
