You Can't Buy Love

The Microsoft Yahoo deal isn't close yet and we already see people who want to quit web apps like flickr and Yahoo Mail when this deal will be done. Is Microsoft trying to buy any customer love here? I don't think that this will work Mr Ballmer - you can't buy love with money - you can only buy love with good products - a lesson that had been lost somwhere in the Microsoft Office beween the copy and the coffee machine. When a customer uses Yahoo Mail instead of Hotmail or MSN - they have a very good reason to do so. If customers uses flickr instead of any Microsoft Image Service they have a really good reason for that as well. I think the only winner here is Google. Many flickr users will probably switch to Googles Picasa and many Yahoo Mail users will make the switch to Google Mail.
