First of all I thought if that really make sense but when I think about it more - it really does. Using this feature you can control your kids, wife, husband, girlfriend that using an iPhone. This sounds a bit weird - yes - but the tipster said this feature will be included in the new iPhone 2.0. Anybody else seeing a benefit of that?<br /><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/iphone" rel="tag" class="techtag">iphone</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/2.0" rel="tag" class="techtag">2.0</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/gps" rel="tag" class="techtag">gps</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/position" rel="tag" class="techtag">position</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/me" rel="tag" class="techtag">me</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/.mac" rel="tag" class="techtag">.mac</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/sync" rel="tag" class="techtag">sync</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/apple" rel="tag" class="techtag">apple</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/wwdc" rel="tag" class="techtag">wwdc</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/3g" rel="tag" class="techtag">3g</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/rumor" rel="tag" class="techtag">rumor</a>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-5117497327052878962008-05-10T03:48:00.000-07:002008-05-10T04:02:07.035-07:00Google Translate Using a PromptIf you like using <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate_t">Google Translate</a> you know that there is a fast way to select a word or more from a website to translate it - or even translate the whole website - but there is no way to have an input promt that let you enter some words. Today I invested some time to create a little bookmark javascript that either displays a prompt and you can enter the words you want to translate or simply translates the words that you selected on an actual running website.<br /><br />The script is really simple and you can configure the script for your needs because one feature has been droped. Google Translate normaly detects the language of the words that you want to translate. At the moment I didn't found a solution for that when you use a prompt to enter some words to translate. Perhaps someone has a clue for that.<br />You can configure the language pair with the "lan" variable inside the script.<br /><br />lan='de|en'; // translate always from german to english<br />lan='en|fr'; // translate always from english to french<br /><br />If you like the script you can drag the following link to your browser link bar > <a href="javascript:%09lan='en|de';%09t=(window.getSelection?window.getSelection():document.getSelection());%09if(t=='')%20{%09%09if(window.getSelection)%20{%09%09%09if(frames.length!=1)%20{%09%09%09%09for(i=0;i%3Cframes.length;i++)%20{%09%09%09%09%09t=frames[i].document.getSelection();%09%09%09%09%09if(t)%20break;%09%09%09%09}%09%09%09}%09%09}%09}%09var%20e=(document.charset||document.characterSet);%09if(t=='')%20void%20(%20t=prompt('Google%20Translate%20:%20Please%20enter%20a%20search%20term:','')%20);%09if(t)%20{%09%09location.href='http://translate.google.com/translate_t?text='+t+'&hl=en&langpair='+lan+'&tbb=1&ie='+e;%09};">Google Translate</a><br /><br />Feedback of bugs or improvements are welcome!<br /><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/google+translate" rel="tag" class="techtag">google+translate</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/google" rel="tag" class="techtag">google</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/translate" rel="tag" class="techtag">translate</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/bookmark" rel="tag" class="techtag">bookmark</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/javascript" rel="tag" class="techtag">javascript</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/script" rel="tag" class="techtag">script</a>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-67194360443628628002008-04-21T09:37:00.001-07:002008-04-21T09:40:10.044-07:00The iGoogle POI Station<style type="text/css">.flickr-photo { border: solid 2px #000000; }.flickr-yourcomment { }.flickr-frame { text-align: left; padding: 3px; }.flickr-caption { font-size: 0.8em; margin-top: 0px; }</style><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/superfrunny/2431593846/" title="photo sharing"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3215/2431593846_4c071ed2cd.jpg" class="flickr-photo" alt="" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/igoogle" rel="tag" class="techtag">igoogle</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/google" rel="tag" class="techtag">google</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/poi" rel="tag" class="techtag">poi</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/station" rel="tag" class="techtag">station</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/" rel="tag" class="techtag"></a>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-21398515287358253282008-04-11T12:00:00.000-07:002008-04-11T12:22:10.144-07:00Microsoft to Open Apple-Like Retail Stores?<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_tV8XX1CVW54/R_-6CNLjM7I/AAAAAAAAAPw/OpiFp9iYrpk/s1600-h/Bild+2.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_tV8XX1CVW54/R_-6CNLjM7I/AAAAAAAAAPw/OpiFp9iYrpk/s400/Bild+2.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188069842814710706" /></a><br /><div><br /></div>Today <a href="http://www.macdailynews.com/">MacDailyNews</a> posts a <a href="http://www.macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/rumor_microsoft_to_open_apple_like_retail_shops/">rumor</a> that Microsoft will perhaps open Apple like retail shops. I need to read that headline twice because this is a really great idea only Microsoft can come up with. I wonder if they have any ideas what they want to sell inside these shops? Windows Vista? XP Downgrade Pakages? How to switch from a Mac to Windows Vista Books? I am sure you can only enter this shop when you have a Microsoft Live or Hotmail Account and the light will go out from time to time when you are in the shop. Most of the time I get spam emails with the same content - even when I mark this emails as spam - I get these sort of emails over and over again. The email has a zip file attached. For me this only happens on none GMail accounts that I setup to collect other pop accounts via GMail. <div><br /></div><div>Did GMail silently disable the spam filter for none GMail accounts?<br /><br />Below you see another problem that I got twice within the last week. It's an email that has been marked as spam some days ago and now it comes in again. This email has an image attached and - oh wonder - it shows me the image - although Google is hidding images -normaly- from unknown email senders. You can see it in the screen shot. The bug happens when your homescreen is full of icons and you want to add another one. On my iPhone's Homescreen I have three additional buttons - one for Google Mobile, one for Accuweather iPhone Widget and one for the JiWire Wi-Fi Finder. So my homescreen is actualy full with buttons - I like that. When you now go to Safari navigating to any page, press the plus button to add a new bookmark but then press "cancel" in the dialog. Back on your homescreen you can see that the iPhone now added a new dot that lets you navigate to homescreen #2. But this homescreen #2 is empty - because you didn't add a new bookmark. Ok perhaps this isn't really a bug but if you don't like the two dots at the bottom of the homescreen you can reset this bug by simply tab and hold a button on the homescreen - starting to rearange buttons on the homescreen. Then click your home button and the dot is gone. <div>Btw. the second dot also appears when you start dragging buttons on the homescreen (shaking buttons). But it disapears when you didn't move any button to the second homescreen.</div><div><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/iphone" rel="tag" class="techtag">iphone</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/apple" rel="tag" class="techtag">apple</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/bug" rel="tag" class="techtag">bug</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/bookmark" rel="tag" class="techtag">bookmark</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/homescreen" rel="tag" class="techtag">homescreen</a> </div>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-78482205166282730742008-03-16T05:47:00.000-07:002008-03-16T12:42:07.534-07:00My First 24 Hours With My iPhone!Yesterday I decided to buy an iPhone and this is my first post directly from my iPhone. So far I'm highly impressed and facinated about this thing and I learn to type faster on that onscreen keyboard by the minute. I am sure, soon I can write books on that keyboard without a problem - and without a Stylus. The overall presentation of the iPhone is impressing. This starts with the black box where it comes in. It looks like a jewel box rather than a box for a mobile phone. For me this is not a mobile phone anymore, it's a fantastic device that's ready for the future of human being. And of course it is a hit in the face for all other mobile manufactures out there that didn't learn a lesson in the last years. If you really want a device that is your friend when you are out the office or at the Kindergarden - the iPhone is your mate in any case - to compare: a Nokia feels like a dumb and ugly old fashion something. With opening the iPhone to external developers we will see a lot of great new applications for that baby soon. The iPhone is a device that is and will be your companion for all your needs. After so many years waiting for a device that is cool like the ones in Star Trek or Star Wars - I felt like a kid when I first hit the power on button. Steve, what a wonderful device!<br /><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/apple" rel="tag" class="techtag">apple</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/iphone" rel="tag" class="techtag">iphone</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/mac" rel="tag" class="techtag">mac</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/device" rel="tag" class="techtag">device</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/phone" rel="tag" class="techtag">phone</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/mobile" rel="tag" class="techtag">mobile</a>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-23865513366119344782008-03-14T01:06:00.000-07:002008-03-14T01:07:27.215-07:00WWDC 2008<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/superfrunny/2332035439/" title="WWDC 2008 Teaser by Frunny, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2140/2332035439_812c9fa635.jpg" width="479" height="500" alt="WWDC 2008 Teaser" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/apple" rel="tag" class="techtag">apple</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/wwdc" rel="tag" class="techtag">wwdc</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/2008" rel="tag" class="techtag">2008</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/iphone" rel="tag" class="techtag">iphone</a>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-78253043849374833932008-03-06T04:54:00.000-08:002008-03-06T05:01:29.486-08:00A Save Place For Apples Time CapsuleSearching for a save place for your data on Time Capsule? Is Microsoft trying to buy any customer love here? I don't think that this will work Mr Ballmer - you can't buy love with money - you can only buy love with good products - a lesson that had been lost somwhere in the Microsoft Office beween the copy and the coffee machine. When a customer uses Yahoo Mail instead of Hotmail or MSN - they have a very good reason to do so. If customers uses flickr instead of any Microsoft Image Service they have a really good reason for that as well. I think the only winner here is Google. Many flickr users will probably switch to <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com">Googles Picasa</a> and many Yahoo Mail users will make the switch to <a href="http://gmail.com">Google Mail</a>. <div><br /></div><br /><embed allowScriptAccess="never" saveEmbedTags="true" src="http://www.polldaddy.com/poll.swf" FlashVars="p=278849" quality="high" wmode="transparent" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="252" height="372" name="beta3" salign="tl" scale="autoscale" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" ></embed><br /><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/microsoft" rel="tag" class="techtag">microsoft</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/yahoo" rel="tag" class="techtag">yahoo</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/flickr" rel="tag" class="techtag">flickr</a>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-74800348977061284302008-02-01T07:42:00.000-08:002008-02-01T07:43:39.245-08:00Microsoft Yahoo Deal<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/superfrunny/2235021280/" title="The Microsoft Yahoo Deal by Frunny, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2184/2235021280_fa55d554ae.jpg" width="500" height="412" alt="The Microsoft Yahoo Deal" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/microsoft" rel="tag" class="techtag">microsoft</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/yahoo" rel="tag" class="techtag">yahoo</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/deal" rel="tag" class="techtag">deal</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/flickr" rel="tag" class="techtag">flickr</a>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-28047069146269486482008-01-30T09:06:00.000-08:002008-01-30T09:20:08.253-08:00iPhone Case Luxury Flavor<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_tV8XX1CVW54/R6CwrY3EF2I/AAAAAAAAAOo/thbg61fVlGQ/s1600-h/Bild+1.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_tV8XX1CVW54/R6CwrY3EF2I/AAAAAAAAAOo/thbg61fVlGQ/s400/Bild+1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5161319432420857698" /></a><br />If you own an iPhone these days you are still somewhat extra deluxe and super hipp. But if you really want to show the world that you are <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">the one</span> - you need this - the <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Gold & Diamond iPhone Case </span><a href="http://www.case-mate.com/phones/apple/golddiamondiphonecase"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">from Case-Mate</span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"> for $20.000</span>. <div><br /><div> </div><div>From their website it says: </div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">"T</span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">he Case-mate Diamond Case is handcrafted with 42 diamonds (3.5 carats) set in 18K gold, embedded in a rare gold carbon fiber leather case. If yes, you probably know the "Hello World" tutorials that explain first steps into a new programing language. Today I call this post "Hello iPhone" - because the iPhone SDK is on the starting grid somewhere at Cupertino and we are all excited to see what this is all about. I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling that we don't see a full Cocoa development kit for the iPhone. We will probably see something different here - perhaps a save Java implementation or even a sort of Android version. I <a href="http://websquirrel.blogspot.com/2007/11/will-iphone-soon-run-with-googles.html">talked about that</a> some weeks ago - and some of your were really upset with that - but I know that Steve don't like it when everybody can code software (crappy or not) for his baby. I worked on Jave J2ME Development for over 5 years and I know that J2ME can ne really powerfull with the right implementation into the hardware. Some mobile manufactures do that well, some not - and I think Apple can do it very well. Of course I hope we see an addon to the XCode Developlemt Kit to develop nativly in Cocoa or even Carbon for the iPhone. Well only one month to go to the end of February!<div> </div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_tV8XX1CVW54/R58yeo3EF1I/AAAAAAAAAOg/qZUF5tsm4p8/s1600-h/iphoneApp.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_tV8XX1CVW54/R58yeo3EF1I/AAAAAAAAAOg/qZUF5tsm4p8/s400/iphoneApp.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5160899199935715154" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/iphone" rel="tag" class="techtag">iphone</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/apple" rel="tag" class="techtag">apple</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/sdk" rel="tag" class="techtag">sdk</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/xcode" rel="tag" class="techtag">xcode</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/cocoa" rel="tag" class="techtag">cocoa</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/carbon" rel="tag" class="techtag">carbon</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/developer" rel="tag" class="techtag">developer</a>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-34795530000366520422008-01-28T11:52:00.000-08:002008-01-28T13:43:36.091-08:00GMail Login Problems?Anybody else with GMail log in problems? Since two hours, I have problems to get to my inbox - the page says "Loading..." and tries to connect - over and over again but it will not go to the inbox. First time since I use GMail I ask myself - should I better make backups of my GMails?<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/superfrunny/2226311389/" title="GMail Offline? by Frunny, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2331/2226311389_befe1429a7.jpg" width="500" height="193" alt="GMail Offline?" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/gmail" rel="tag" class="techtag">gmail</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/google" rel="tag" class="techtag">google</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/mail" rel="tag" class="techtag">mail</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/offline" rel="tag" class="techtag">offline</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/login+problems" rel="tag" class="techtag">login+problems</a></div>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-67755484682191675282008-01-28T02:16:00.000-08:002008-01-28T02:33:21.093-08:00MacBook Air - Whats Next? 50 Weeks To Go!The MacBook Air is an amazing - nice to have - Apple Product. Even if you don't need it - you need it in some way. When I first saw it, I was a bit disapointed about the size - I know it is really thin and that's fantastic - but when you saw the new eeePC from Asus - you know what small is and I expected Apple would go that way. I don't want to compare those two pieces here - but wouldn't it be great if Apple will create another highlight this year? You know, Jobs told us - there are still 50 weeks to go in this year and perhaps we see something like a MacBook Nano.<div><br /></div><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/superfrunny/2225887254/" title="MacBook Air + Nano by Frunny, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2234/2225887254_0e93fe8438.jpg" width="500" height="313" alt="MacBook Air + Nano" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://technorati.com/tag/macbook" rel="tag" class="techtag">macbook</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/macbook+air" rel="tag" class="techtag">macbook+air</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/nano" rel="tag" class="techtag">nano</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/apple" rel="tag" class="techtag">apple</a> <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/mac" rel="tag" class="techtag">mac</a>Andynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7792849791359527193.post-81128330549478098532008-01-27T07:40:00.000-08:002008-01-27T07:44:18.930-08:00Using a Wii Remote to Create a 3D WorldFound that movie from a developer that created something really great. I tried it today to make it a very powerfull invoicing reporting tool to check if your clients payed your invoice or not. Some will think that this is a very uncommon way to track invoices - well it's ok for me and perhaps for some of you as well. <div><br /></div><div><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_tV8XX1CVW54/R5uO3o3EFzI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/SETfWE4eYF4/s400/Bild+1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5159874884595357490" /><div><br /></div><div>Simply create the labels "> INVOICED" and "> PAYED" or name it like you want and create a label for every company you send invoices. Every time you create a new invoice - send an email to your gmail account with the amount in the subject or even mor details about the invoice and label it as "> INVOICED" - and later when the client send you the money - label it as "> PAYED". </div><div><br /><div> </div><div>Now create bookmarks for invoiced and payed labels to direct access all invoiced or payed invoices from your browser with a single click.</div><div><br /></div><div>Bookmark for all open invoices : Label "> INVOICED"</div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'courier new';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">http://mail.google.com/mail/?search=query&view=tl&start=0&init=1&fs=1&q=label:>-invoiced<br /></span></span><br /><div>Bookmark for all payed invoices: Label "> PAYED"</div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'courier new';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">http://mail.google.com/mail/?search=query&view=tl&start=0&init=1&fs=1&q=label:>-payed</span></span></div><div><br /></div><div>Please notice the "q" parameter in the url at the end for the label name to search for and how the space in the label is replaced by a "-".</div><div><br /></div><div>With this two Bookmarks you have direct access from your browser to all invoiced and payed invoices with a single click.
